Despite a 69 percent drop in audience, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was able to hold onto the top spot at the weekend box office. The Paul Rudd-led superhero flick raked in $32.2 million in its second week after an impressive $106 million opening weekend. It was Marvel Studios' biggest second week drop off to date. The highly anticipated horror-comedy Cocaine Bear landed in the second spot with $23 million at the domestic box office. In the third slot was the religious drama Jesus Revolution, which took home $15.5 million more than doubling predictions it would bring in up to $7 million.
Pokémon Continues…
While Ash Ketchum's story has concluded, the franchise is gearing up to tell a new tale. The Pokémon Company has struck a deal with Netflix to create a new stop-motion animated series titled Pokémon Concierge. Haru, who works as a concierge at the Pokémon Resort, is set to be the new main character. "We're also excited to reveal this new series on Pokémon Day and provide fans with even more things to look forward to on this special holiday celebrating the popular franchise," said Minyoung Kim, VP of Netflix Content in Asia, according to Variety.
He'll Be Back
Arnold Schwarznegger is gearing up for another Hollywood romp. The ex-Governator is set to star in his first TV role in an action-comedy series titled Fubar. The show follows a father and daughter who find out they are both, in fact, spies and who must then join forces — hilarity ensues.The show will stream on Netflix and premiere on May 25.
