Amazon owned Ring has canceled a planned partnership with law-enforcement tech provider Flock Safety after widespread backlash following its Super Bowl ad.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Meta is under investigation by federal prosecutors for its alleged role in the sale of illegal drugs. The journal reports that investigators in Virginia have issued subpoenas and spoken to potential witnesses. The food and drug administration are also reportedly involved in the investigation.
Uber has agreed to pay $178 million in a settlement with Australian taxi operators and drivers over a class action lawsuit filed in 2019. The lawsuit accused the rideshare company of breaking laws requiring taxis and hire cars to be licensed, which allegedly led to lost income and decreased the value of taxi licenses. Uber denied knowingly breaking the law but agreed to the settlement.
Apple is in talks to potentially license Alphabet's AI Tool Google Gemini. That's according to Bloomberg. The companies are reportedly in 'active negotiations' about Apple licensing Gemini to power AI features in the upcoming IOS 18 later this year. According to Bloomberg, Apple has also held talks with OpenAI about using its technology.
