NBA Playoffs - TNT/ESPN/ABC

Picked by Lawrence Banton

It's the holiday season for basketball fans as the 2023 NBA Playoffs finally get underway this weekend. After the conclusion of Friday's play-in tournament, the slate of scheduled games will be complete. In the East, the first round matchups so far are as follows: The Boston Celtics will face the Atlanta Hawks, the Philadelphia 76ers will play the Brooklyn Nets, the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks will tip off, and the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks will play the winner of Friday's match up between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls.

In the West, the Denver Nuggets face the winner of Friday's game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The young bucks on the Memphis Grizzlies are to play the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers, the Sacramento Kings — in the playoffs for the first time in 16 years — will play the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns are playing the Los Angeles Clippers. The action starts on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.

'Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis - Hulu

Picked by Growth Associate Keara O’Driscoll

This takes the cake on a list of things we didn’t need, but I’m so glad that we have. Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker take us behind the scenes of their dreamy Portofino wedding and share stories of their iconic Vegas and Santa Barbara weddings (a grand total of 3 for those keeping track at home). The Kardashians are no strangers to a wedding special. They are so ingrained in pop culture that I have a better memory of SNL skits making fun of them, like Kim’s Fairytale Divorce. Nonetheless, I am always here for Kardashian content, especially during this dry spell we are in between seasons.

Tetris - Apple TV+

Picked by Newsletter Writer Graison Dangor

You don't have to enjoy playing Tetris to get into the unexpectedly dramatic backstory of how an American video game salesman and the game's Soviet creator teamed up to get it past the Iron Curtain. Critics have praised the performance of star Taron Egerton, known for the Kingsman films, and audiences seem to like it as well: On Rotten Tomatoes, it scores 81 percent among reviewers and 88 percent with audiences.

Emergency NYC

Picked by Digital Editor Michael Nam

In the early days of the pandemic, the difficult work juggling all the medical emergencies took a grueling toll on our first responders, and some people began to take notice. New York City was struck extremely hard by the new coronavirus. A new Netflix docuseries now takes a look at Big Apple hospitals, now filled with fewer COVID victims but still inundated with the medical emergencies that typically plague a big city. The show follows the lives of EMTs, helicopter pilots, doctors, and nurses working to alleviate pain and save the lives of New Yorkers amid some trying circumstances.
