Need something to stream to get you through the weekend? Cheddar recommends the return of some hit shows and a couple of stand-up specials.

Outer Banks: Season 3 - Netflix

Picked by Growth Associate Keara O’Driscoll

Outer Banks is back with another action-packed season. I’m sweating just from watching the trailer! The Pogues are back on their ongoing treasure hunt and viewers can expect more excitement from the gang than ever before — brought to you by unrealistically intense storylines and daddy issues galore. I'm not sure if I would call this version of the OBX my paradise on Earth, however, I look forward to dusting off my puka shells and enjoying this season.

Snowfall: Season 6 - FX/Hulu

Picked by Reporter Lawrence Banton

The final season of John Singleton's Snowfall has arrived. It's bittersweet knowing this is the last lap in the story of Franklin Saint and his ascension as one of the country's biggest cocaine traffickers — who also happens to be backed by the federal government. This season will put the family dynamic to the test as the fallout between the Saints has reached the point of no return. In my humble opinion, there can be no winners when the family feuds, but it will be interesting to see who, if anyone, survives when it's all said and done.

Kathleen Madigan: Hunting Bigfoot - Amazon Prime Video

Picked by Newsletter Writer Graison Dangor

I'm excited to check out the new comedy special from this master of Midwestern schtick who still has one of my favorite all-time jokes: "I'm not afraid of a burglar. I'm afraid of the mailman. That [bleep] hasn't brought anything good to my house since I was 10."

Marc Maron: From Bleak to Dark - HBO Max

Picked by Digital Editor Mike Nam

It's been a rough time for comedian Marc Maron after the loss of his partner Lynn Shelton due to a sudden illness during the pandemic. But, the famously gruff and grumpy comic still has jokes for his HBO special — albeit dealing with grief and vulnerability, as the title of the show might suggest. He bleakly begins with "I don't wanna be negative, but I don't think anything's ever gonna get better ever again," and then it gets dark. But it's also funny.
