'THE VOICE' CROWNS WINNER

Season 23 of The Voice concluded Tuesday night with Gina Miles beating out Grace West for the championship. The show also bid farewell to country music singer Blake Shelton, who has served as a coach on the show since its first season. Shelton said the show was  “the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.” Indeed, it's where Shelton met his future wife, Gwen Stefani, when she came on as a coach in 2014. Other big names such as Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Jennifer Hudson paid tribute.

GOSLING'S BARBIE GIFTS

The stars of the upcoming Barbie film noted during a recent Vogue interview that they were helping each other get into the spirit of the character behind the scenes. Margot Robbie, who plays the titular Barbie, apparently gave Gosling, who plays her love interest Ken, a "pink present with a pink bow" each day of shooting. Usually the presents were beach-related, because Ken's job is just "beach" — though Gosling admitted he still wasn't sure exactly what that meant.

MILEY CYRUS ON ENDING TOURING

Miley Cyrus recently revealed that she would not be touring anymore, and many fans were looking for answers. In a social media post, the pop star said “I just don’t want to sleep on a moving bus.” At the same time, she stressed that would still be connecting with her fans through music, just not while performing live on stage.

SAFER GUN USE IN MEDIA

A new study titled “Trigger Warning: Gun Guidelines for the Media” highlighted the severity of gun violence in America and called for Hollywood to portray safer gun use on screen. The study by USC Annenberg's Norman Lear Center outlined a number of recommendations, including showing fictional characters engaging in best practices such as storing and locking away firearms. It also called on TV and film creators to help drive the national conversation around gun violence by appealing to common values of safety and presenting nuanced and diverse depictions of victims of gun violence.
