Comic Book Movie Trailers

Phase five of Marvel's Cinematic Universe continues with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury coming back into focus. The studio just released the trailer for its next streaming effort, Secret Invasion, which is slated for a June release.

The series will center on the confusion drummed up by the Skrulls, an extraterrestrial race of shapeshifters who can take on the appearance of anyone. The concept was introduced back in Phase 3 when Fury's character was outed as a Skrull thanks to a post-credit scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home that showed the real Fury somewhere off in space.

Don Cheadle, Cobie Smulders, and Ben Mendelsohn are also set to reprise their roles as War Machine, Maria Hill, and Talos.

Meanwhile, DC is also expanding its universe with the studio dropping the trailer to Blue Beetle, and it looks like they have an exciting story on their hands — doing so in a historic fashion.

Xolo Maridueña stars as Jamie Reyes, the character known as the Blue Beetle. He is the first Latino superhero to be featured in the DC cinematic universe. While major plot points have not been revealed, the film is slated for a late summer release.

Harrison 'Indiana Jones' Ford

The fifth film in the Indiana Jones franchise starring Harrison Ford is nearing a theatrical release, but before audiences around the world have a chance to watch, the annual Cannes Film Festival will get to see Dial of Destiny first.

The world premiere will be part of a larger celebration of Ford's career by the festival's organizers, which kicks off on May 18.

Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Boyd  Holbrook, Mads Mikkelson, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge also star in the latest installment hitting U.S. theaters on June 30.

Box Office Magic

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves rolled up a win at the weekend's box office. Its $38.5 million loot was enough to help the fantasy flick land in the top spot ahead of John Wick 4 and His Only Son, both of which raked in $28.2 million and just $5.5 million respectively.

Dungeons & Dragons was predicted to make between $30 million and $40 million for its opening, and it brought in another $33 million globally, pushing its total to $71.5 million.
