From Thor's disappointment to 'Inside the NFL's' new home, here's what's happening in entertainment.

'Inside' on the CW

The iconic Inside the NFL show has a new home on the CW.

The 47th season will debut on the network September 5 – just days ahead of the start of the 2023-24 season. The CW's acquisition of the show is a pretty big deal as it is the first time the show will air on a broadcast network.

The show first debuted on HBO in 1977 and ran on the network until 2008. Inside then called Showtime home before moving to Paramount+.

"For almost five decades, 'Inside the NFL' has been an industry leader in showcasing can't-miss weekly highlights, unprecedented behind-the-scenes content, exclusive access to players and lively discussions," said Dennis Miller, president of The CW Network.

The CW's acquisition of the show marks the network's second successful effort as it attempts to go deeper into sports coverage. LIV Golf, which just announced a merger with the PGA Tour & European tour, is also aired on the network.

Marvel Updates

A few years ago, director Martin Scorsese shook the room when he said Marvel movies aren't cinema and a few took his words personally, including actor Chris Hemsworth. He has played the role of Marvel's Thor for more than a decade and was part of the superhero movie renaissance that kept eyes glued to screens, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an interview with British GQ, he said Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, who also had disparaging opinions about superhero flicks, "I guess they're not a fan of me."

"There goes two of my heroes I won't work with," he said. "Now, whether or not those films were to the detriment of other films, I don’t know."

"I don’t love when we start scrutinizing each other when there’s so much fragility in the business and in this space of the arts as it is," he continued.

The next Captain America movie is slated for a 2024 release and now the Anthony Mackie-led project it has a new title: Captain America: Brave New World. It's the fourth installment in the Cap't franchise and the first lead role in the MCU for Mackie, though he starred in several other MCU projects.

The film will follow Sam Wilson, the newly-appointed Captain America, as he adjusts as the new leader of the Avengers. The previous Captain America, played by Chris Evans, retired from the mantle in order to go back in time to be with wife Peggy Carter.
